London, England: Geo. B. Whittaker, 1825-01-01. Hardcover. Acceptable. Volume II only. First edition,original paper over boards. Linen spine with paper label. Spine is loose with chipping at head and heel and white call numbers on spine. No other library markings. Front hinge is cracked through but still connected. Text is very good and solidly settled in the binding. Copy of Edward D. Neill, assistant secretary to President Lincoln, he worked with him the day he was shot. Neill also served as an early president of Macalester College, who's bookplate bears his name as a gift.
