Second state with two dots copyright page in first issue DJ (reviews of the Gospel Singer only on the rear panel). With a fabulous full-page INSCRIPTION from Crews to Don Kaufmann: "Winter Park, Summer of 1975. For Don Kaufmann -- Here is my best -- the one I love the most -- because I am nearest to what I love the most and that which I find the most mysterious --I can only wish you to know what I do not know. Harry Crews." The late Don Kaufmann was a close friend of Crews, a scholar and a noted collector of American literature whose collection was sold in two featured Heritage Auctions recently. Few faint foxing spots top edge and some rubbing on the edges else a tight, near fine book in a bright, fine price-intact ($5.95) DJ. Scarce with such a great inscription.. Inscribed by Author(s). 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Dust Jacket Included.
