Second lifetime edition of collected works of Vladimir Sollogub (1813-1882) Russian writer, poet, author of dramas and memoirs. He made his first literary appearance in the "Sovremennik" (Современник) the literary magazine of Alexander Pushkin, with whom he almost had a duel for Sollogub's alleged attention to his wife Natalya Goncharova. Sollogub's best known work is "Tarantas" (1833), a satirical journey from Moscow to Kazán, that he made together with his friend Grigory Gagarin the painter, who made the illustrations of the book. Sollogub also renowned for the text "Trouble of the Tender Heart" (Беда от нежного сердца) that was later used by Tchaikovsky as the first part of "Six Romances".
