Halaas's dated signature to front free endpaper, and signed on title page by Claire Athearn (presumably the wife/widow of the author), thus: "For my second favorite / Norwegian, / Love / Claire Athearn." --- In full grey cloth-covered boards with black spine titling. Volume wrapped in dust jacket with photo of Judge E. C. Winchell wrapped in an American flag and pointing a revolver while atop Mount Winchell in California. --- An about-Near Fine copy: bright, tightly-bound and unmarked. Unpriced jacket with a little rubbing, else bright, complete, and wrapped in removable archival mylar protector. ; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; xii, 319 pages .
