About This Item
A book for older children, Dr Branley looks to answer some of the essential questions around the mysteries of Stonehenge. Where did the stone pillars come from? How were they transported and erected? When was it built and who built it? And – crucially – why? The book draws together the latest thinking of its time, by bringing together the thinking of anthropologists, archaeologists, engineers and astronomers. The excellent illustrations are by double Greenaway award winner Victor Ambrus, later also well known for his work on Time Team. A wonderful book, especially in this condition.
In really nice condition, especially for a childrens' book of this age. Pages are complete, bright and tidy, with no markings. Cloth boards are tight and clean. DJ is price clipped but otherwise in excellent condition. Just the most minor shelf wear at the top. Now covered in a removable clear book covering. 57pp with unique colour illustrations and index
