Includes the first publication of passages from Dashiell Hammett's short story "The Thin Man" (different than his novel). This copy is inscribed by editor Donald Adams to Lawrence D. Stewart on the front flyleaf: "For Lawrence: Copy No. 1 of 10 hand-cased advance copies. Bound by Bela Blau: 14 November 1972." Stewart's short story "Gertrude Stein and the Vital Dead" is included in this annual. Octavo. Original red cloth binding, with gilt titles. A fine copy in a fine dust jacket. Inscribed By Editor.
