My Sister Life was written in the summer before the 1917 October Revolution, it was very well received and established him as a genius of Russian poetry. The English translation was done by Mark Rudman. The acclaimed Russian born artist, Yuro Kuyper provides 6 etchings for the publication, printed on Hannemule paper in Paris. The paper used for the text was hand-made by H. M. P. Mill in Connecticut to resemble the sort of stock produced in 1920's Russia, even incorporating bits of Russain newspapers with rags and cotton pulp. The book is in near fine condition, with the only defect being some sunning to the spinea. The slipcase in VG or better, showing some sunning. The book is signed by Yuri Kuyper and this copy is #212 of 250. The original LEC invoice for $4000 laid in; Etching; Folio 13" - 23" tall; Signed by Illustrator .

Edition limited to 250 numbered copies signed by the artist, Yuri Kuper. Kuper's etchings were printed in Paris on Hahnemuhle paper by the noted Aldo Crommelynck. Printed at The Wild Carrot Letterpress. Unique handmade paper with bits of Russian newspaper embedded in it.

When in the summer before the 1917 October Revolution Boris Pasternak wrote My Sister–Life, it aroused wild enthusiasm and established him as a genius of Russian poetry. As brilliant, is this English translation by the poet, Mark Rudman.In the original Russian the poems were strictly rhythmical and written mostly in a classical meter. Most of them rhyme. Rudman has translated them into free verse, paralleling Pasternak's rhythm and retaining his stanzas. Large folio (16" x 23") imaginatively halfbound with a gray goatskin spine and the same leather used as strips on the fore-edge of each cover with treated handmade paper sides using the same paper as the text. Housed in a slipcase made of tough gray linen-rayon. Printed letterpress on paper made by hand to resemble the sort of stock produced in the 1920s in the Soviet Union. To attain this effect, Russian newspapers were cut into minute pieces and incorporated with rags and cotton pulp with individual Cyrillic letters floated onto the mixture before the process was completed.
