London: Secker & Warburg, 1956. First Edition. Very Good/Very Good. First edition. 164pp. Original brown cloth with gilt lettering. Very Good with ding to bottom edge of upper board, foxing to text block edge, blue marking on bottom textblock edge, pages toned. In a Very Good unclipped dust jacket with light foxing and light wear, toning to spine. The British writer's memoir of his years with an Alsatian dog (named Queenie in real life), which was the basis of a 2009 animated film.
Synopsis
My Dog Tulip is an American independent animated feature film directed and animated by Paul Fierlinger. His wife, Sandra Fierlinger, painted the backgrounds and characters. It is based on the 1956 novel by J. R. Ackerley, which tells the story of a man's relationship with his German shepherd. Somewhat unusually for animated features, the film is geared toward the "adult sensibility" rather than children.
