Colour frontispiece with B&W illustrations throughout. Some insect damage to front endpapers to frontispiece. Notable foxing and tanning to endpapers and page edges. Some gutter cracking. Front hinge cracked. Pages are rough cut. Mild wear and bumping to spine, board edges and corners, with small splits (approx. 1cm) to spine ends. Minor scuffing, staining and marking to boards. Book has a backward lean.

Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are a mildly crushed, with small splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Owner's inscription attached to front endpaper. Boards: a little unevenly faded and discoloured. Otherwise good. Dustwrapper: several short closed tears and nicks to edges and corners. 1cm deep chips to top and base of spine (eating into the top of the letters "Mrs" at the top and most of "Oxford" at the bottom. Light rubbing to edges. Dusty, but main front pictorial area bright. 209 pp.
