Philadelphia: J. B. Lippincott, 1946. Early Reprint. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Very Good/Good-. 8vo. Pp. 252. Bound in full red cloth with blue lettering and rules on front board and spine. Light dust soiling to top edge; moderate wear to cloth. Bookplate on front pastedown. In the illustrated dust jacket, chipped, notably on front and rear panels; spine a bit faded. The author's first novel, an apocalyptic story centering on man's fate following a nuclear power plant meltdown. Cool dust jacket art, uncredited, showing generic men in shadow, with one illuminated in red standing atop an atomic symbol. Dust jacket is now preserved in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
