Inked name and date to front free end paper, a nearly fine copy in a very good dust jacket with light shelf wear to the spine ends with shallow loss, slight loss at the upper right corner tip and light rubbing to the folds. (24713). Octavo, jacket illustration by Hawkins, original gray cloth, front and spine stamped in green, fore edge uncut, bottom edge rough cut, top edge stained yellow. A novel of a young man's journey through life and love during the Depression and carrying through WW II and after. Cain considered this one of his best novels. Hubin, p. 125.
