About This Item

Longman, Green, Longman, and Roberts, 1862. Original cover, but rejointed by the library. The cover is a dark blue hardback, with blindstamping to the front and back covers and dark red lettering on a plate affixed to the backstrip, although the backstrip is so faded and dirty that the wording is now illegible. The cover is in poor condition, with scuffing to the corners and edges of the covers and to the top and bottom of the backstrip. Additionally, the joint between the front cover and backstrip is slightly torn halfway up the book. The cover is very dirty, with dampstaining also evident on both the front and back covers. The endpapers are split between both the front and back covers and the pageblock, although the binding remains intact both here and throughout the rest of the pageblock despite loosening between pages 129 and 145. The pageblock is uncut, and the leaves are slightly browned with age towards the edges. The text is in good condition, with no annotations or other markings. There is a bookplate indicating previous ownership pasted to the inside of the front cover. This book has hardback covers. Ex-library, With almost no library markings, With owner's name inside cover. In poor condition, suitable as a reading copy. No dust jacket. Please note the Image in this listing is a stock photo and may not match the covers of the actual item,850grams, ISBN:
