About This Item

New York: Redfield, 1853. First edition, 8vo, lithograph frontis (view of St. Paul) and title-p. (St. Anthony Falls), 364pp. and 16pp. publisher's ads; with the folding map not found in all copies; map with old cellotape repairs, original dark brown cloth, spine faded with ends chipped, front hinge cracked, a few breaks in the cloth at joints, else good or better. A good overview of all aspects of Minnesota as it existed prior to its organization as a territorial government in 1849, and "as it is" in 1853. Not in Howes or Graff.
