Chicago, IL: Milady Beautiful, 1918.. 1918.. Good. - Octavo, softcover bound in pictorial wrappers with a photographic portrait of actress Ina Claire on the front cover. The binding is lightly rubbed, bumped & soiled with 2 vertical creases to each wrap. The top edge of the front wrap is darkened & there is a chip out of its top edge. 46 & [2] pages. Black-and-white illustrations & pictorial ads. There is some light creasing to the pages & the top page corners are bumped. Good. <p>A magazine advising women how to preserve their youthful looks through sound mental and physical practices. Among the contents of this issue are "The Greek Dance" by Jean Van Vlissingen; an article on palmistry by Elsie Devereux and one on two four-year-old twins working with Caruso on his first film; "Milady's Coiffure" on hairdressing by Fanchon; "Xanthoma" on a type of skin lesion by Dr. G. A. Ward; and "Beauty and Bombs" by Emilee on the healthful effects on French women of working in munitions factories during the war, and on their attention to their looks both during the working day and after hours. There is a color ad for face powder on the rear wrap.<p>Scarce.
