As an old man the noted Venetian womanizer Jacques Casanova (1725-1798) looked back at his younger self and wrote this memoir of his life and romantic involvements. Edited by Madeleine Boyd, with an introduction by Ernest Boyd. Volume wrapped in jacket with Paul Galdone illustration to front panel. --- In Toledano spine 8 / red cloth / gilt titling on black spine & cover blocks / black topstain / grey Kent endpapers / jacket style i, verso lists 380 titles in ML catalog. Likely published c.1958 (though 1929 date appears in book). ML #165.1. --- With tears to cloth and jacket at head of spine and creasing to edges of leaves at rear of volume (probably the work of a rampaging family pet), otherwise a well-preserved copy: unmarked, tightly-bound and clean. Price-clipped jacket with other small tears and chips, else bright, intact and wrapped in removable archival mylar protector.; 12mo (7 to 7-1/2 in. tall) ; xii, 492, (8, ads) pages .
