About This Item

London: Thames & Hudson, 2006. Book. Fine. Hardcover. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Grey hardcover with title in orange and white on spine. Condition: Fine, binding sound, no inscriptions. Dustjacket condition: Fine, with just the faintest hint of shelfwear. 351pp. 615 illustrations, 154 in colour. Max Ernst (1891-1976) created fantastic worlds through images throughout his career. But it is only when ones sees his work in relation to the images of his life - his letters, photographs, poetry and diaries, so brilliantly reproduced on these pages - that one begins to understand his world, a world spent at the epicentre of 20th century artistic life. A heavy book, will require extra postage if to be sent outside UK..
