The classic Old West conflicts of cattlemen and sheepmen, of rancher and nester must give way to a common enemy. Someone is rustling livestock and each side blames the other. Into their territory arrives young nester Larrabie Keller, caught red-handed at the scene of a recent theft. Branded a rustler, he escapes quick retribution with the help of one who believes he is guilty but does not approve of his captors’ intent. From this point Phyllis Sanderson finds herself at the center of events, torn by conflicting loyalties and conflicting passions. Who is Larribie Keller' Why has he gained the trust of some—yet remains the sworn enemy of so many others' MAVERICKS is yet another classic story from pen of one of the most enduring and honored of all the early writers of the Old West—one who knew it when it still lived and faithfully recreated it for many years afterward. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: William MacLeod Raine (June 22, 1871 – July 25, 1954), was a British-born American novelist who wrote fictional adventure stories about the American Old West.
