London: George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd., 1934-38.. Four volumes. Mixed impressions, 4th, 2nd, 1st and 1st impressions respectively. Publisher's variant cloth, gilt lettered to the spines. Numerous maps, plans and facsimiles. Uneven sunning to the cloth, spotting to the top and fore edges, else very good. Woods, A40(a). Langworth, pp.166-67. Volume I is a "new edition, revised", the only one to have been reworked. The bindings are a variant, in purple cloth as opposed to the usual plum and with gilt lettering to the spines only in a different font.
