George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd., 1949. Hardcover. Good. 1949. Reprinted. 1049 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth covered boards with gilt. Fold-out maps and documents. Black and white portrait frontispiece. Pages remain bright and clean with minimal tanning and foxing. Some cracking to gutters with exposed netting. Binding loose. Boards have light shelf wear with minor corner bumping and crushing to spine ends. All surfaces tanned and sunned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering to spine is dulled but remains brighter on front. Boards are slightly bowed. Book has slight forward lean.
