About This Item
Boston: Harvard University, 1965. Rare signed copy. Signed and inscribed by author on fep. Also includes a very rare Abstract handout of this volume. 8vo size clothbound hardcover with photo illustrated dust jacket; 217 clean pages. From flap: "There can be little doubt that the subject of mass transportation is one of the most hotly debated in our urban areas... In this volume Professor Schneider discusses the mass transportation dilemma from a somewhat different point of view form that of exiting's metropolitan planning engineering, or financial studies. He has focused on management in the urban mass transit industry rather than technology, social costs, or public benefits... he contends that administrators of urban mass transit, despite a variety of pressures, have the power to plan and implement marketing strategies which and strengthen the industry." If you're a fan of the song "Charlie on the MTA" check out the photo on the bottom corner of the dust jacket. It shows the streetcar Charlie might have been on (which, except for the Arborway extension where Charlie's extra fare would have been collected, is still in use today.) Bump to bottom of spine, some minor rubbing to front of jacket and some transfer soil on back of jacket. Quotes are for illustrative purposes only and remain the property of their copyright holders. Thanks for shopping with us. 100% of your purchase benefits charity and supports literacy and life-long learning.. Signed by Author. Cloth. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
