Bristol. Soft cover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. This is a manuscript record written by a member of the Murch family who recorded alerts and air raids in the Bristol area between 1940 -- 1942. Initially starting as a diary of events it continues as a table recording the start and end of alerts and raids with occasional notes, e.g. Sun 11th August 1940 "Screeching bombs fell". Written in a school exercise book in ink and pencil in a "schoolboys" hand which is reasonably legible with care. Loosely inserted is a card detailing sleeping arrangements for the Murch family with names and rooms in which they would sleep, together with their placements during air raids and contact details for their next of kin - all information presumably for the use of rescuers should they be bombed. Unique.
A manuscript record of alerts and raids on Bristol between 1940 - 1942. Written in a childish hand it contains much data and would warrant detailed research.
