About This Item
Eyre & Spottiswoode, London, 1956. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Fair. 224 pages (complete). A comfortable copy of Paul Scott's third novel. Here he hones his talent for scything through middle-class disillusion and tensions - both sexual and social. The dustjacket has wear about the edges and corners and seams. It is a little dingy. The dj is however, secure and comfortable. The boards are simple, mild-mannered with some light shelving wear to the edges. The contents are placid. The earlier and later pages have blushes of foxing. In general, and by far, the contents are clean, clear, assure, amenable, confident. fk.
