Clean pages with light tanning and mild foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Lettering is darkened. Moderate tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Moderate splits to spine ends and corners causing cloth to be frayed. Book has a slight forward lean. Visible wear marks to boards.

Published by George Newnes Limited, 1949. 1st edition.. Hardback. Very Good/Good. Very good condition in an almost very good dustwrapper. Grey cloth, black titles to front cover and spine. 254 pages. Spine slightly bumped. Some small nibbles to top corner of front cover. Endpapers partly browned, light foxing to outer page edges. Pages 39-42 have slightly ragged edges where the pages were not trimmed correctly in the binding process and have been roughly opened (text not affected). Dustwrapper has old tape repairs to verso which have started to show through to the front, top corner of front panel has been nibbled by rodent.
