Uncommon inscribed first edition of this melancholy later Keats, in which a girl somewhere in the palm-tree-laden South searches for the kidnapper of her pet cricket. 8'' x 9''. Original blue cloth with black cricket stamped on front board. In original unclipped ($8.95) dust jacket. Illustrated in color throughout. Unpaginated. Inscribed by Keats on title page: "To Elizabeth - Best wishes / Ezra Jack Keats." Boards very slightly bowed, sunned along edges. Moderate wear and creasing to jacket, with two closed tears neatly tape-repaired on verso.
