Neill, with 8 only [of 12] plates remaining in this damaged copy. Cloth, large octavo, 280 pp. Paper cover illustration plate is badly worn with parts missing. Chipped, scuffed, rubbed; binding loose with some pages & plates separated, edgewear, dust, substantial spotting at spine and rear board; coloring at rear endpaper illustrations; poor to fair. A reading copy only of a scarce Oz first, with 8 [of 12] of John R. Neill's memorable color illustrations, themselves worn but proabably acceptable for framing. Numerous in- text black and white illustrations by Neill as well. L5
