Gilbert first collected his early verses in 1868 (and more completely in 1898), but the collections did not contain all, and many more have come to light. Here is a collection of thirty-three light verses, a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First [Trade] Edition [stated "First Published September, 1932" and "Of this First Edition a limited number of copies are issued with hand-coloured illustrations"]. Green textured cloth binding with titling in gilt on the spine. Clean text; 127 pages of a stiff card stock. Index of first lines and list of titles. Hints of rub only to the bottom margins; some tiny, faint marks to the front cover. Spotting to the page ends and occasionally throughout. No dustwrapper; in an archival plastic protector.. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. Illus. by Townley Searle. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
