Endpapers and page edges are lightly tanned and foxed. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped and spine ends are a mildly crushed, with small splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Black and white illustrations throughout. Light foxing and noticeable tanning to pages. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Pen inscription to front pastedown. Moderate cracking to gutters causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has minor tanning with soft splitting and crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean.

Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with creased corners and foxing. Boards have been moderately rub worn. Noticeable shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are bumped and a little frayed Spine ends are crushed, with noticeable splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Slight cracking to hinges, with exposed netting, pages remain attached. Pages and illustrations are lightly tanned throughout. Gilt to edges of text block. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Light sunning to spine and edges. Area of loss to top of spine.

New York: Hurst & Co. Hardcover. Fair - Cash. Red leather spine and corners with red marbled harboards. Heavy wear to cover, corners and edges, exposes the boards. Has soiling to cover and the edges of the pages. The psine is split in couple places. P/O name and date indside. Stock photos may not look exactly like the book.

London: George Routledge & Sons, 1886. Book. Poor. Cloth. First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. The author's cvomplete copywright edition. Brown cloth spine, brown marbled boards. The spine has damp damage on the upper third, and is blistered on the back edge. Rubbing on the extremeties and corners bumped. The binding is ok - pages reasonable and clean.

London: George Routledge. Bound in half red leather with marbled boards and endpapers. Banded spine with gilt titles. A little edge wear. Cut-out in prelim, presumably removing previous owner's name, else minimal internal wear. . Good. Hardcover. 1883.
