About This Item
Irving Klaw, 1950s. Very Good Plus. Vintage silver gelatin black-and-white snapshot photographs produced by Irving Klaw and his sister Paula, circa 1950s. A few feature notable persons, including Elizabeth Taylor and popular pinup Donna "Busty" Brown, with a third but unrecognizable blonde stripteaser. The Klaw siblings are infamously known for several photography sessions involving BDSM and the notorious Bettie Page, and their bondage images are often more accessible than their images of established, full-time Hollywood persons like Taylor. They operated Movie Star News since the late 1930s, and the Taylor image likely came 1950-51, with the stripteaser images late 1950s or even 1960s. All approx 4 x 5 inches, single-weight, black-and-white, with small borders and Klaw copyright statements, each with its series number etched in the negative and visible in the image. Very Good Plus overall, slight curl, light toning, verso foxing, a few tiny corner creases, moderate toning (Liz Taylor), one with a few small tears and scratches (unrecog. blonde). No nudity, but for mature, consenting audiences.
