Mylar jacket cover. 86 photographs. Black cloth binding with gilt titles on spine with gilt airplane on front, very clean, unmarked, tight and solid volume. Top edge of text block has scattered pale spots, otherwisre Fine handsome binding. Interior clean and completely unmarked. Book design has each chapter with illustrative page in black with illustration of wings, verso with airplane, each page with lines top and bottom with airplane on page edge; endpapers with black and brown postage stamp designed with the Spirit of St Louis, Lindbergh's plane, on it. This is the story of Lindbergh's solo flight from New York to Paris at age 25, and the story of the man and the forces that led him to act as he did. Back side of jacket has The New York Times article, May 27, 1927, of this first transaltantic non-stop flight. 215 pages. 8 x 10.5 inches.
