Ballantyne, with coloured plates. An attractive copy of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding. With a coloured frontispiece and three coloured plates. Undated. Dated from a copy held at an institutional library.This adventure story was written by Scottish author R. M. Ballantyne, who was known for collecting first-hand experiences of the subjects, characters and settings of his works. For this particular story, he spent some time living with the lighthouse keepers at the Bell Rock before writing. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with scattered spotting, heaviest to the first and last few leaves. Very Good
