New York Mershon [] , 1891, First Edition. hardcover. First Edition, First Printing. PHYSICAL BOOK as published 1891, A NICE COPY. -- A large hardcover book, 790 pages, bright gilt lettering on brown cloth, top-edge-gilt TEG, beautifully crisp & clean interior. Condition: very good plus (a little wear at spine tips, faint scuff along cover edges). -- O'Reilly (?1770-1829, scholar of Irish language and writers) had quite a "life" including escapes from British prison and from Australian transportation, finally to Boston where he edited the leading Irish-American newspaper. His poems often addressed heroism of the common soldier, and he was best known for his speeches, called an "eagar-hearted lover of humanity." [Robert Welch]
