About This Item
Milano (Milan): Dalla Societa Tipografica de Classici Italiani, 1803. Very Good. 5.25 x 8.25 inches (13.5 x 21 cm). Complete in two volumes, bound as one. Half vellum binding with marbled boards by Heyes & Jones of Liverpool. Spine ornately decorated in gilt, with red morocco title label. Light marking to vellum. Slight rubbing to boards. Red dyed page edges with fading. Marbled endpapers. A few pencilled margin markings, text is otherwise very clean throughout. Italian language. Pencilled note to verso of front free endpaper speculating that the book may have belonged to William Roscoe, the slave abolitionist, however we can find no evidence for this. A nice solid example of this classic work on Court etiquette. Overall condition is Very Good. Size: 5.25 x 8.25 inches (13.5 x 21 cm). Hardback. Printed pages: xl, 226
