Atlanta, GA: The Martin & Hoyt Company. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1907-1923. Hardcover. Volumes 1 through 13 cover writings from authors Adams through Young; volume 14 is miscellanea, volume 15 is a biographical dictionary, volume 16 contains indexes, reading courses and historical sidelights, and volume 17 is Supplement 1. Gray cloth boards, brown and gilt title block, top edges gilt, decorated endpapers, tissued illustrations, each volume being about 400 pages. Volume one contains a page stating: "This set of the library of southern literature which garners and preserves the literature and traditions of the South is dedicated to the patron whose autograph is inscribed in this initial volume of the work" and signed Patron Edwin A. Aldermann, editor-in-chief . Varying degrees of rubbing and light wear to each volume, but basically a uniform, attractive set with the owner's name, date purchased (1926) and price paid for each volume on flyleaf. ; Small 4to - 9" to 11" tall; 19982 .

St. Ives: Being The Adventures of a French Prisoner in England (1897) is an unfinished novel by Robert Louis Stevenson. It was completed in 1898 by Arthur Quiller-Couch. Unable to write, Stevenson dictated thirty chapters of the novel to his stepdaughter as a diversion from his debilitating illness. He alternated dictating St. Ives and The Weir of Hermiston but gradually lost interest in the former. The plot concerns the adventures of the dashing Capitaine Jacques St. Ives, a Napoleonic soldier, after his capture by the British. Condition: Corners bumped and rubbed, shelf wear, hinges and spine heal moderately rubbed, previous owner's name on front end paper else a very good copy.
