[A Contemporary View of Colonial Maryland, Particularly Annapolis] Bound in 3/4 leather over brown boards. Hardcover. Good binding and cover. Clean, unmarked pages. [50], 455, [1] pages. "The letters provide an excellent picture of upper-class Maryland society in Annapolis during the social season and on plantations in both the Eastern and the Western Shore of the Chesapeake" - Clark, Old South I:229; Howes E41; Sabin 21801. Eddis served in the British colonial government, until forced by the revolution to leave the country. This book comprises his remembrances of America and Maryland in particular.
