New York: Harper & Row, 1963. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Second novel from the late McMurtry, author, screenwriter, and bookseller who demythologized the American West and won a Pulitzer prize for Lonesome Dove. His first novel, Horseman, Pass By, was filmed as HUD starring Paul Newman in 1963. Leaving Cheyenne took a little longer, but was eventually adapted into a movie called Lovin' Molly in 1974, starring Blythe Danner as the title character. First edition, signed and inscribed by McMurtry on the ffep. Near fine copy in like jacket, price-clipped and with price stamped on bottom front flap. Spine shows some toning, else minimal wear.
