About This Item
New York: Abbeville Press, 1981. Book Club (BCE/BOMC). . Hardcover. Fine/Good Plus. David Finn. A photographic essay on English sculptor Henry Moore's "Large Two Forms," a monumental work created in 1966-69 and now installed at the Gould Center, Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Photographer David Finn photographed the work over several seasons from a wide variety of perspectives and lighting conditions, resulting in a fascinating visual study of one of Moore's most important works. Text includes a brief comment by Moore and a preface by Kenneth Clark, pre-eminent British art historian and critic. 9 1/4 x 12 1/2 inches; 79 pages with 44 black & white and color photographs on heavy, glossy stock, including three-page panoramic foldout of the work against a background of trees and rectilinear buildings and 14 two-page spreads. Dark blue, cloth-covered boards and text block are clean and unmarked, tight and square. The pictorial dustjacket shows a nickel-sized scratched and rubbed are on the front panel (apparently an attempt to remove a sticker) , a quarter-inch tear at the bottom corner of the back panel and minor edge and corner wear. A very decent reading/study copy.
