Frontis. color photo of "Autumn Landscape" attributed to Emperor Hui Tsung. Illustrated with a section of 101 black and white plates. Notes. Bibliography. Index. Decorated endpapers. Bound in lavish black cloth, purple lettering stamped on spine, over partial-buckram boards. (Please see photo.) Gift inscription to Marjorie Severyns Ravenholt from Albert Ravenholt on the front free endpaper. Slight waviness to text block, which appears a condition of paper-bias, rather than dampness. Price-clipped dust jacket is now preserved in a removable, clear archival sleeve. Munsterberg was a wide-ranging scholar of Asian arts who published works as varied as "The Folk Arts of Japan," "Chinese Buddhist Bronzes," "Symbolism in Ancient Chinese Art" and "The Japanese Print.
