Dedicated to the Countess of Darnley. contains detailed map of the Island of Jersey. Story begins in t he 1570s. Cover is exceptionally lovely: sky-blue cloth on boards. Glued embossed paper illust. of lavender and white lilacs centre front cover boardered by printed frame of fleur de lis. Gilt letter s on spine. 9 full page plate illustrations. Cover has min wear and dust soiling. Endpapers unmarked. The first letter of each new chapter is nicely illustrated. Pub in 1904 , a charming, romantic sto r y. Binding is tight. Overall cond: v. good.. F.
