About This Item
London: Stanley Paul & Co.; Boston: The Page Company, n.d.. Paperback. Good. Brief (2)-page Foreword by H. G. Wells followed by 20 plates (political cartoons) tipped in along left side to an equal number of unnumbered leaves. Softcover in original tied wrapper. 35 cm. Almost all of backstrip gone. Cover moderately soiled and has some staining and chipping. Contents sound with minor soiling and just a couple of short tears -- neither to any of the plates. Dyson, an Australian illustrator and political cartoonist, spent quite a bit of his working life in London. Wells suggests in the Foreword that the cartoons in this volume are more anti-military-monarchy than anti-German.
