Brown cloth-covered boards, gilt titles to spine, 379 pages, with many illustrations from photographs, and illustrative diagrams. Undated, but published in 1932. Translated by J. Manchot; preface by Colonel the Master of Sempill. Presumed first edition. Condition notes: A battered and bruised copy, although binding is sound and firm. Much rubbing and wear to boards, top of spine strip frayed, missing front free end paper, library label remnants to rear paste down, rear end paper torn, fore-edges soiled and bruised, paper age-toned, staining (a patch about 1 cm by .5 cm) to gutter margin of some later pages, with the source (unidentifiable) still adhering to one of the plates.
