A graduate student couple decide to take a cross-country road trip to visit serial killer murder sites, picking up an unusual couple along the way through a ride-sharing advertisement. The uneasy balance between the two couples begins to degrade when one of the riders begins to exhibit unstable and violent behavior.

Shot on location in Amboy, Los Angeles, Malibu, Ludlow, Darwin, and Rosemead, California, in Atlanta, Georgia, and in Chicago, Illinois.

Generic pictorial Propaganda Films wrappers. Title page present, dated 01.10.92, noted as Director's Rewrite, with credits for screenwriters Tim Metcalfe, Dominic Sena, Aris McGarry, and Mitch Sacharoff. 128 leaves, with last page of text numbered 127. Xerographic duplication, rectos only. Pages Near Fine, wrapper Very Good plus, bound internally with three gold brads.
