A feisty and appreciative review by fellow iconoclast Sinclair Lewis, originally published in abridged form in the Saturday Review, December 1925, citing it "novel of the very first importance". Dos Passos ever remained a staunch Lewis supporter [Pastore] On this end of the timeline, Dos Passos' book is reviewed at "Fractious Fiction a website devoted to radical, unconventional and experimental fiction with a particular focus on the rise of modernism and its aftermath".
