Michael Joseph, 1950. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1950. First Edition. 268 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth with faded lettering to spine. Boards and rear paste-down are very notably water stained. Front free endpaper is missing. Pages are lightly tanned with water staining and a few small nicks along text block edge. Moderate cracking to hinges and gutters, with exposed netting. Binding is fairly loose. Pen and pencil inscription to half title page. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with mild bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Heavy tanning and sunning to spine and edges, with visible crushing to spine ends. Book has a pronounced forward lean and bow. Very notable water staining to front board and spine.
