About This Item
London: Michael Joseph, 1979. First edition, first printing. Published by Michael Joseph in London, 1979. This is a very near fine copy. The dust wrapper is bright throughout but with some very minor wear at the spine tips and corners. It has not been price clipped and shows the original £6.95 net price. The spine is so slightly sunned, casting this copy down from the fine grading. The boards are free from notable wear and the text blocks are bright and white throughout. The authors signature is neatly flat signed, alongside the illustrators, on the half title page, with 'Happy Birthday!' in Herriot's hand just above. It is free from additional inscriptions. Overall, this is a very near fine copy of a fine dual signed title. James Herriot writes about the glorious moors, the gentle dales, dry-stone walls and sturdy farmhouses, ruined abbeys and castles among the hills, market towns, country villages and bracing, windy beaches, as he shares his love of Yorkshire.
