First edition, American issue of the author's first book, with both Maunsel and Macmillan cited as publisher's on the dust jacket's front panel. 12mo. 55 pp. Inscribed on the title page, "In a way, I'll never beat / this / James Stephens." On front pastedown, bookplate of British film actor F. Wyndham Goldie, active from the 1930s through the â50s. Very good copy in the scarce dust jacket. Cloth-backed printed boards (stain at base of spine), unpriced printed dust jacket (archival tape repairs at folds). (7135).
