Description:
New York, NY, American Museum of Natural History, 1918. Folio (35.6 x 28.0 cm). 103 pp., 20 plates, 55 text figure and maps. Original printed wrappers. = A fine monograph by the American zoologist Harold Elmer Anthony (1890-1970). The numbered text illustrations are in fact often groups of illustrations. Chiroptera (bats) feature prominently. The photographic plates include type localities and scenery. The material is well-preserved and carefully described. Published in the Museum's Memoirs, New Series II(II). The front wrapper is dated June 1918, but on the title page it is pasted over with a small printed label stating that October 12, 1918 is the actual date of distribution. Uncut. The fragile front wrapper is chipped at the edges and has become detached. Otherwise a very good, clean copy.
