Washington: Government Printing Office, 1906. Discussion of plans for development & improvement of the nation's capital city, with numerous photos, plans, & maps, some folding. Pencil note on the second page: "Cyrus H. McCormick Esq. [Jr.?] Compliments D. H. Burnham Mch 25th 1907." McCormick was an important Chicago businessman, son of the reaper magnate, and a funder of the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893; Burnham was an architect, noted several times in this book, particularly known for his Plan for developing Chicago and work on the Columbian Expo. Stated third edition, with brief note on changes since the first edition [1902] was published. Hardcover, as pictured. Light wear, corners bumped & rubbed; hinges tender, pencil "H.A." on free endsheet. Text clean, 179 pages; index, many b/w photos, plans, 3 large folding color maps. . Third Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. Octavo.
