About This Item
Random House. Hardcover. Very Good Plus. Dr. Seuss (Theodore Geisel). Probably an early 1980's reprint edition/printing based on the title listing on back cover (please see photos of rear cover and copyright page). Almost Near Fine condition with mostly a bump at top of spine with associated creasing to boards along with other corner touches. No dust jacket as issued. Illustrated end papers. A nice sturdy copy of one the Seuss books that will not published any longer due to several pages of perceived racial stereotyping.
Synopsis
If I Ran the Zoo is a children's book written by Dr. Seuss in 1950. The book is written in anapestic tetrameter, Seuss's usual verse type, and illustrated in Seuss's trademark pen and ink style. The book is likely a tribute to a child's imagination, because it ends with a reminder that all of the extraordinary creatures exist only in McGrew's head.
