Mark Kellogg was a newspaper reporter who provided the only press coverage of General Custer and his forces in the run-up to the Battle of the Little Bighorn. He was killed in the battle along with Custer and his men, becoming the first Associated Press correspondent to die in the line of duty. [63609].
