Visually the exterior appearance is acceptable for a book of it's age, and even internally,the book is in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation.It is only the exterior faults described that prevent a higher grading.

Sir Hugh Maxwell Casson, CH., KCVO., PRA., RDI was a British architect.He was also active as an interior designer,as an artist,and as a writer and broadcaster on twentieth-century design.He was the director of architecture for the Festival of Britain on the South Bank in 1951.
